The World Rowing Coastal Championships (‘WRCC’) will be held at Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong from 30 October to 3 November 2019. For the first time ever, the WRCC will be held in Asia and in the urban area of a metropolitan city. This year, an estimated 700 top coastal rowers from all over the world will be joining the race, including world medallists.
The WRCC 2019 will be conducted in the Central harbourfront, primarily by the Central-Wan Chai promenade, where local and international visitors and spectators will be able to watch the race from different angles: from land, sea (via Star Ferry) and sky (via the Observation Wheel). The race course is strategically designed to be in front of the spectacular city’s skyline. The organising committee aims to demonstrate the dynamic energy and spirit of Hong Kong, as Asia’s world city as well as to promote Hong Kong as a hub of international water sports events.
This event is awarded “M” Mark status.
